The post-processor uses the calculated and tested tool paths to generate the respective CNC or robot programs. The post-processor reads the system-specific CLDATA, interprets the map file that matches the machine and generates the necessary commands. The map file is an ASCII file that allows for accurate control of the data output. Values can be cached in registered and transferred with a delay. It is even possible to perform certain calculations – from basic operations to function values of polynomial equations.
The result of post-processing is an NC program that does not only contain the standard geometric information but also a wealth of technology-related data (e.g. laser ON/OFF, gas flow rates, preparatory laser commands, etc.)
